Why Sugar Cravings Keep Winning and How To Change It

It’s 2025, a fresh new year, and I want to have a chat about something that might be holding you back.

Does this sound familiar? You start the week feeling motivated – ready to eat well, ditch the sugar, and take control of your health.

But then, mid-afternoon hits (or maybe by midweek), and those sugar cravings sneak in like an uninvited guest. Before you know it, the chocolate or biscuits have found their way into your hands.

You’re not alone, and here’s the good news: this isn’t about willpower or discipline. Cravings aren’t a sign that you’re weak – they’re actually your body’s way of sending you a message.

Cravings are signals from your hormones, stress levels, energy reserves, or even your gut health. They’re little whispers saying, “Hey, something’s out of balance.”

But instead of listening to what your body really needs, sugar often becomes the quick (and ohso-tempting) fix.

What if those cravings weren’t the enemy but a roadmap to a healthier, happier you? What if the secret wasn’t to restrict sugar but to rebalance and nourish your body in a way that feels good – and works for the long haul?

Those cravings don’t stand a chance when your body is supported and balanced. They simply fade away, allowing your metabolism to finally do its job.

And with that balance, fat loss can happen naturally – no more exhausting yo-yo dieting or guiltfilled cycles.

So, instead of battling your cravings, what if you worked with your body to reset them for good?

I’ve seen this transformation happen for so many women who felt like they’d tried everything. They’d been through every diet and still felt stuck, often blaming themselves when nothing
worked.

That’s exactly why I created Revive and Thrive: Reset Sugar Cravings and Unlock Fat Loss in Five Days.

This free five-day event is your gentle, supportive guide to understanding your cravings, rebalancing your body, and finally feeling back in control.

No crazy diets.

No guilt.

Just simple steps that make sense and work.

Here’s what we’ll cover together:

  • Why cravings seem to control you,
  • How to ignite your metabolic fire and
  • The ‘Can’t Ignore’ reasons that stop you from losing weight.

This is your chance to start the year strong – to listen to what your body’s been asking for and finally give it the reset it deserves.

I’d love for you to join us for this free event. It’s not just about sugar – it’s about stepping into a healthier, happier version of you.

This is how gut microbes can influence weight!

Probiotics can help you gain weight or lose weight by interacting with our genetics, food and metabolism.

And yes, I did say lose or gain weight……..

Firstly, let me explain that the trillions of microbes in the gut need to be varied, meaning that there should be a large variety of species. There are many different species (or breeds) of microbes, and they all have their place in aiding health — the more variety and balance, the better health results.

Back to the weight loss or weight gain issue….

Do you eat yogurt and berries for breakfast? Thinking that it’s helping you lose weight?

Well, Lactobacillus acidophilus (like the species found in yoghurt) has been connected to weight gain.

I am not saying throw your yoghurt and berries in the bin. Instead, I am suggesting looking at the overall picture. If Lactobacillus acidophilus is the predominant micro-organism of the gut, then weight gain can result.

It is about the variety of species of gut microbes. Imagine if we only have trained german shepherd guard dogs in the world. It may be a safe world, but I am sure that other breeds may be more suitable as a family pet.

While Lactobacillus acidophilus is associated with weight gain, other Lactobacillus species correlate with weight loss.

Species like Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus gasseri, and Bifidobacteria animalis have been found to support weight loss.

Want to lose weight?

Look at your gut flora to support your goal.

Tests can be performed to identify the predominant species of the gut, and specific species can be utilised to support weight changes.

Want more information about your gut health?

Or want to look at all the factors contributing to weight gain, I’d love to be able to help.
