Can we pause for a moment — just here at the start of the year?
Because if you’re like most people I speak to, January often arrives with a familiar mix of hope and pressure. New Year’s Resolutions arise…..
This year I’ll do better.
This year I’ll finally focus on my health.
And for a while, motivation carries you…
You make plans…
You feel inspired…
Then life resumes!!!
Work, family, responsibilities, and stress — let’s face it, they don’t politely wait while you “get healthy!!”
They keep moving.
And slowly, health slips back down the important to-do list.
Not because it doesn’t matter — but because trying to do it alone, on top of everything else, is generally hard.
What I’ve Seen Over and Over Again…
After years of working with people from all walks of life, one truth stands out:
When health is compromised, everything feels heavier.
Energy fades….
Patience shortens….
Sleep suffers….
Joy feels more distant….
Life just feels so much harder to navigate….
You can still show up — most people do — but it takes more effort than it should.
And here’s something important many don’t realise until much later:
Health isn’t something you push through or muscle your way into.
It’s something you build and maintain — with support, structure, and consistency.
This Year Doesn’t Need Another Resolution
What if this year wasn’t about willpower?
What if it were about recognising that health is longer-term — not a short burst of motivation?
Real health isn’t created in isolation.
It’s supported by guidance.
By having a framework.
By being reminded, encouraged, and gently redirected when life inevitably gets busy again.
Because life will get busy again.
That’s not failure — it’s reality.
Starting the Year the Way You Want to Finish It
Imagine reaching the end of this year feeling:
- More energised
- More grounded
- More resilient
- Clearer in your mind
- Stronger in your body
That doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when health stops being a “someday” goal
and becomes something intentionally supported throughout the year.
Many people reach a quiet realisation:
“I don’t need more information — I need something that helps me stay on track.”
That awareness alone is powerful!
A Gentle Thought to Carry With You
As this new year begins, perhaps the question isn’t:
What resolution should I make?
But instead:
What kind of support would help me truly care for my health this year?
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more about what it really takes to support health in a way that lasts — gently, sustainably, and with real life in mind.
If this message resonates, trust that you’re exactly where you need to be.
Let’s begin this year the same way we want to end it:
Healthy, happy, vibrant, and energised — not by chance, but by choice.

Ready to kick start Gut Health? Book a Call!
This is how gut microbes can influence weight!
Probiotics can help you gain weight or lose weight by interacting with our genetics, food and metabolism.
And yes, I did say lose or gain weight……..
Firstly, let me explain that the trillions of microbes in the gut need to be varied, meaning that there should be a large variety of species. There are many different species (or breeds) of microbes, and they all have their place in aiding health — the more variety and balance, the better health results.
Back to the weight loss or weight gain issue….
Do you eat yogurt and berries for breakfast? Thinking that it’s helping you lose weight?
Well, Lactobacillus acidophilus (like the species found in yoghurt) has been connected to weight gain.
I am not saying throw your yoghurt and berries in the bin. Instead, I am suggesting looking at the overall picture. If Lactobacillus acidophilus is the predominant micro-organism of the gut, then weight gain can result.
It is about the variety of species of gut microbes. Imagine if we only have trained german shepherd guard dogs in the world. It may be a safe world, but I am sure that other breeds may be more suitable as a family pet.
While Lactobacillus acidophilus is associated with weight gain, other Lactobacillus species correlate with weight loss.
Species like Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus gasseri, and Bifidobacteria animalis have been found to support weight loss.
Want to lose weight?
Look at your gut flora to support your goal.
Tests can be performed to identify the predominant species of the gut, and specific species can be utilised to support weight changes.
